Sobotec Ltd. is a leading engineering design and fabricator of architectural wall systems with facilities located in the Hamilton area. Our designs primarily utilize natural metals, high pressure laminates and aluminum composite sheet materials in conjunction with extruded aluminum profiles fabricated into sophisticated wall systems. These systems are designed for application on various building types and are featured on many well-known stadiums, airports, universities and high-rise buildings throughout North America.

Qualifications

Architectural Technology/Technician, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
Minimum of five (5) years commercial construction experience with a minimum of four (4) years of estimating experience.
Capability to review, estimate and price large, complex, competitive bid projects.
Familiarity with systems include but are not limited to ACM (Aluminum Composite Material), Insulated Wall Panels, Metal Siding, Terra Cotta, UHPC (Ultra-high Performance Concrete), Fiber Cement, Phenolic panels, Exterior Screenwall.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUP, Blue Beam and MS Office products.

Responsibilities

Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all exterior panel design stages: Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
Prepares take-offs and estimates costs for materials, labor, and equipment needed to fulfill contract requirements.
Consults with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolve issues.
Review design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
Creates bid packages and collaborates with the design team to ensure all necessary information is included for comprehensive bids. Provides the field team with accurate information to initiate construction promptly and maintain project schedules
